What is AmeCon?
AmeCon is the UK's largest residential convention dedicated to the celebration of Japanese Animation and Comics, and the community that these media bring together. We try to be a little bit country, and a little bit rock'n'roll - well, maybe a lot rock'n'roll, but that's beside the point.
The weekend-long timetable is chock-full of attendee-run events providing new insights, or alternative viewpoints, on a variety of related subjects. Either way, they are a great way to meet likeminded people who love the same things you do.
Our infamous nightly parties provide ample opportunity to kick back and get your groove on with friends, old and new. Folks coming to AmeCon might only see each other once or twice a year, so we do everything we can to make it a weekend to remember!
Above all else, AmeCon is an event that is run by fans, for fans, and would be nothing without the fans. Every penny AmeCon receives goes into making the event that bit more special for the hundreds of attendees who return year on year. If you want to know more about AmeCon, have a poke about the site or the forum, or drop us an email!
AmeCon will be returning to the plush and vast campus of Keele University, Staffordshire. With its sizable ballrooms, bars and flexible working spaces, it's the ideal place to hold the convention.
AmeCon will be spread over 3 key buildings, the first being the primary hub of AmeCon parties and staged events, the Keele University Student Union (KUSU) building. The Ballroom will feature improved airflow for 2012, and theLounge bar is bound to be the main hang out between key events and let's not forget the pub quiz.
The Sports Center will hold the dealers room among other things. Chancellor's building will be your first point of call for anime viewings, Games Room, Artist's Alley, Ops and various events including the Charity Auction..
For those who are staying on-site, you'll be eating a full english breakfast every morning (included with every on-site room booking) in the outstanding Keele Hall building.
Membership for AmeCon 2012 (excluding accommodation) will cost £47.50
