What is AmeCon?
AmeCon is the UK's largest residential convention dedicated to the celebration of Japanese Animation and Comics, and the community that these media bring together. We try to be a little bit country, and a little bit rock'n'roll - well, maybe a lot rock'n'roll, but that's beside the point.
The weekend-long timetable is chock-full of attendee-run events providing new insights, or alternative viewpoints, on a variety of related subjects. Either way, they are a great way to meet likeminded people who love the same things you do.
Our infamous nightly parties provide ample opportunity to kick back and get your groove on with friends, old and new. Folks coming to AmeCon might only see each other once or twice a year, so we do everything we can to make it a weekend to remember!
Above all else, AmeCon is an event that is run by fans, for fans, and would be nothing without the fans. Every penny AmeCon receives goes into making the event that bit more special for the hundreds of attendees who return year on year. If you want to know more about AmeCon, have a poke about the site or the forum, or drop us an email!

AmeCon 2012 Charity - Aid for Japan

AmeCon is proud to announce that we'll be supporting Aid for Japan as our charity for 2012.
Following the tsunami and earthquake in Japan on 11 March 2012, Aid for Japan founded to support the education of children who were affected by the disaster. In July 2011, the media reported that 1295 children under 18 lost one of their parents and 229 children lost both. Aid for Japan help the lives of these children through long-term psychological and educational support by raising money and essential items at Japanese cultural events in the UK.
AmeCon will be supporting Aid for Japan during AmeCon 2012 and we hope you will join us through our fundraising and charity events.
